Kiln Making and Metal Fusing Workshop for Students

Whitireia Community Polytechnic will be holding a workshop on June 5, 6 and 7 that introduces kiln making from ordinary materials. These gas-heated kilns are long-lasting and suitable for use with enamel, wax burnouts and metal fusing. Matthew Wilson-Macintyre, a graduate of Whitireia who exhibits in AVID Gallery, Wellington, will be teaching the course. He will teach the Mokume methods of metal fusing and will introduce his 'special way' of working laminated metals.

Materials for the kiln, and silver and copper for fusing will be supplied.
