New Art Gallery Art for Less Opens in Auckland

Art for Less, a new art gallery for affordable art, opened in Auckland on Saturday, 1 May 2004. Located on Parnell Road, Art for Less is targeting the market of art enthusiasts who have a limited budget. The innovative gallery features only works valued at $5000 or less.

Art for Less features over 100 high-quality paintings, prints and sculptures from a range of New Zealand artists. Another 200 to 300 works are also available to view and buy on the gallery website.

Throughout May 2004, Art for Less will pay the GST on all purchases made in person, by telephone or on the website. This special offer essentially gives buyers an 11.1% discount on every piece of art.

The desire to invest in original works of art has been steadily increasing in the last few years. Inexperienced buyers in the art field do not just want prints and lithographs anymore, so the demand is high for galleries that offer low priced works. The overwhelming crowds that turned up to the Art for Less opening confirmed this trend.

Art for Less is a member of the Ferner Galleries, which has offered authentic works and art expertise since 1985. The Ferner Galleries have two other venues in Auckland and Wellington.
