Corban Estate Arts Centre in Auckland is offering a vast array of art classes for the 2004 Term 2. A variety of levels and experience are welcome. Painting with Acrylics (Beg - Int): Develop technical skills while learning about composition and colour with acrylics. Starts 6 May (8 sessions) Thursdays 10.00am - 12.30pm Fee: $180 Weaving with Harakeke (Int - Adv): Extend and develop your knowledge of weaving with harakeke. In this class you will make a backpack, hat and patterned bag. Starts 6 May (8 Sessions) Thursdays 6.30pm - 9.00pm Fee: $170 Figures and Landscape (All levels): Develop your oil painting skills using local landscapes and a life model for inspiration. Starts 8 May (8 sessions) Saturdays 10.30am - 1.00pm Fee: $180 Life Drawing Night Class (Beg - Int): An intensive and rewarding drawing course for both beginners and intermediates. Starts 12 May (8 sessions) Tuesdays 6.30pm - 9.00pm Fee: $195 Botanical Art (Beg - Int): Complete a series of detailed botanical drawings and paintings using traditional techniques. Starts 13 May (6 sessions) Wednesdays 6.00pm - 8.30pm Fee: $135 Forest Forms: Paper Casting (All exp levels): Use paper pulp and clay to create a series of sculptural pieces inspired by 'forest forms'. Starts 14 May (5 sessions) Saturdays 10.30am - 1.30pm Fee: $135 Painting - Planning and Process (All levels): Generate portfolio work & extend your ways of viewing and interpreting an idea or subject. Starts 18 May (8 sessions) Tuesdays 9.30am - 2.30pm Fee: $300 A West Coast Adventure: Immerse yourself in a weekend of painting and raw west coast energy at the artist's Karekare studio. Friday - Saturday, 4 - 6 June Fee: $225 Magic of Muka: Learn the traditional art of stripping flax to reveal the fibre, Muka, and weave a small wall hanging. Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 June 10.00am - 1.00pm. Fee: $55 Take on Tivaevae: Learn to make your own beautiful Tivaevae quilt in a friendly Pacifica environment. Friday 25 June 6.30pm - 9pm, Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 June 9.30am - 3.00pm.
